Sign in to keep your settings the same on every device
An account is optional. It syncs your interface settings, encrypted on your device first. Learn how signing in, the recovery key and adding a device work.

You never need an account to use Voidcanvas. If you make one, your interface settings follow you to every browser, computer and phone you sign in on. Your designs stay on your devices.
What the account stores is encrypted on your device before it is sent, with a key only your devices have. Voidcanvas cannot read it.
Signing in
In the Editor, open Edit, Account and sync…. Enter your email and choose Send a sign-in code. Type the 6-digit code from the email and choose Sign in. There is no password.
Your recovery key
The first time you sign in, choose Make my recovery key. It is 52 letters and numbers in groups of four. Copy it into a password manager, or choose Download as a text file, then type its last four characters to finish.
Adding a device
On the new device, sign in. It asks for your account key, which your other devices have. Choose one:
- Approve from another device: the new device shows a code and a QR code. On a device you are already signed in on, open Account and sync…, type the code under Add a device, choose Look up, check the device name, then Add this device. Or scan the QR code with your phone. The new device finishes by itself a few seconds later. Codes last ten minutes.
- Use my recovery key: type or paste the key. Upper or lower case, with or without the dashes, both work.
What syncs
- Interface settings from Preferences, and your workspaces and panel layout.
- Recent colours.
- Light or dark for the website.
- Your choice about sharing anonymous usage counts.
Changes are sent within about 30 seconds, and other devices pick them up when you open or return to Voidcanvas. If two devices change settings at once, the latest change wins. Choose Sync now to check straight away.
Devices, lost devices and signing out
Your devices lists every device signed in to your account. Remove takes one off the list. Sign out on a device removes its copy of your keys.
If a device is lost, choose Make a new recovery key on another device if you think the old key was stored on it; the old key stops working straight away. The lost device keeps anything it already downloaded.
Accounts are off in a private session.
If a device is lost or stolen
On a device you still have, open Account and sync… and under Lost a device? choose Replace my keys. You get new account keys and a new recovery key (save it, then type its last four characters to finish), and every other device is signed out. The lost device keeps only what it already downloaded. Add your other devices again with Add a device.
Changing your email address
Under Email address, choose Change, enter the new address and choose Send codes. Type the code sent to the new address, and the one sent to your current address if one arrived, then choose Change email.
Deleting your account
Under Delete account, choose Delete…. If you last signed in more than 10 minutes ago, Voidcanvas first emails you a code to confirm it is you. Type DELETE and choose Delete my account. This removes your keys, synced settings, devices, and teams where you are the only member. Designs saved on your devices stay. If you own a team that has other members, make someone else an owner first.
